8 year old completes LDYC Round the Island Race.

Callie van Niekerk, a junior sailor at LDYC was 7 years old when he won his first race.  This year, Callie received the SAVE the VAAL ENVIRONMENT Trophy for junior sailors for completing the e2020 Round the Island Race.  

SAVE Chairman, Malcolm Plant said at the awards function on 22^nd February that SAVE was delighted to have the opportunity to encourage young sailors and thus give something back to the community.  “LDYC has been a good supporter of SAVE’s aims and felt that this was a good way of further developing that relationship”, he said.
